Murilo has around 20 years' experience in the mining and finance sectors, having lived and worked on four continents, covering the different stages of a mining venture. At Appian Capital Brazil private equity, where he has spent the last five years and which has four assets under management in Brazil, he held the position of Executive Director of Business Planning and Excellence and also covered the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer (COO) on an interim basis. Previously, he served as Director of Integrated Planning in the implementation of a bauxite project in Guinea and participated in the implementation of Anglo American's Minas-Rio project in Brazil. He was Anglo American's global business planning manager, successfully coordinating a billion-dollar portfolio of performance improvement actions. Murilo has a degree in Mining Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a master's degree in Environmental Engineering and Geotechnics from Politecnico di Torino and Politecnico di Milano. He has business training certificates from the Kellogg School of Management, London School of Economics, Centre for Creative Leadership and Alta Scuola Politecnica.
