 "Cerro Dominador" Solar Power Plant

Location: Atacama Desert, Antofagasta Region Capacity: 210 MW (110 MW solar thermal, 100 MW photovoltaic)

The Cerro Dominador is a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant that includes a 110 MW solar tower and a 100 MW photovoltaic field, making it the first of its kind in Latin America. It has the ability to store energy in molten salts for up to 17.5 hours, allowing it to supply electricity 24/7.

SQM Lithium

Location: Salar de Atacama, Antofagasta Region Capacity: Produces around 180,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate annually
Operator: Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM)

SQM operates one of the largest lithium extraction and production projects in the world. Located in the heart of the lithium triangle, the company produces lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide, primarily used in electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
