Jimena Latorre – Minister of Energy and Environment, Mendoza Province Jimena Latorre is an Argentine lawyer and energy policy expert, currently serving as the Minister of Energy and Environment for Mendoza Province. With a strong background in public administration, energy regulation, and legislative affairs, she has played a key role in shaping Argentina’s energy policies. Latorre earned her law degree from the University of Mendoza in 2011, specialising in public law and state administration. She furthered her education with a postgraduate diploma in Civil and Commercial Law from the National University of Cuyo and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Government and Public Administration in Latin America at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Her public sector career began as a legal advisor at the Ministry of Transport of Mendoza, later advancing to Chief of Staff at the Public Services Secretariat. In 2018, she became President of the Provincial Electricity Regulatory Agency (EPRE), where she led regulatory policies for Mendoza’s energy sector. From 2019 to 2023, she served as a National Deputy, holding a leadership role in the Energy and Fuels Commission. During her tenure, she introduced key legislative proposals and inquiries aimed at improving Argentina’s energy landscape. Latorre is also a board member of the Instituto Argentino de la Energía General Mosconi and Fundación Alem, further contributing to the country’s energy policy development. As Minister of Energy and Environment, Latorre focuses on renewable energy expansion, sustainable resource management, and environmental policies to drive Mendoza towards a cleaner and more efficient energy future.
