Igor Goulart Teixeira is a skilled diplomat and energy professional with extensive experience in fostering bilateral energy and mining collaborations between Brazil and Argentina. Currently serving as the Head of Energy and Mining at the Embassy of Brazil in Buenos Aires, Igor is responsible for strengthening ties between public and private institutions in both countries, with a focus on advancing energy and mining integration. Igor’s career in the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) spans over a decade. From 2018 to 2022, he worked in the Energy and Mining Sector, providing strategic guidance to Brazil's diplomatic missions worldwide on energy and mining policy priorities. His role was key in shaping Brazil’s foreign policy within these critical sectors, advising embassies and consulates on how to best navigate and implement energy and mining initiatives. Before his diplomatic career, Igor worked at Vale, one of the world’s largest mining companies, from 2012 to 2016. Based in Rio de Janeiro, he managed social responsibility and sustainability projects in several Brazilian states and in Mozambique. His work focused on corporate social responsibility in the mining sector, planning and managing projects aimed at promoting sustainability and creating long-term value for the communities affected by mining activities. Igor’s academic foundation includes training at Instituto Rio Branco, Brazil's prestigious diplomatic academy, where he deepened his knowledge of international relations and foreign policy. His career is distinguished by his expertise in energy policy, mining sector strategy, and international relations, as well as his ability to foster cross-border collaborations that drive sustainable development in energy and mining. At the Embassy of Brazil in Buenos Aires, Igor is at the forefront of initiatives that align Argentina and Brazil’s energy and mining strategies, positioning both nations for enhanced cooperation in these vital sectors.
