Gabriel Baldassare is a seasoned energy executive with extensive experience in Argentina's electricity and energy markets. He currently serves as the President of AGEERA (Asociación de Generadores de Energía Eléctrica de la República Argentina), a position he has held since May 2020. In this leadership role, Gabriel is responsible for driving AGEERA's efforts to promote the interests of electricity generators across Argentina, advocating for regulatory policies and sustainable energy practices within the country's evolving energy landscape. Gabriel has a deep background in the energy sector, having held various senior positions in both private and public entities. He is also the General Manager of Termoeléctrica Guillermo Brown, a position he has held since October 2022, where he oversees the operational, financial, and regulatory functions of the company, playing a key role in ensuring the effective management of Argentina’s thermo-generation assets. Before his current roles, Gabriel worked as Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs at AES Argentina from 2019 to 2022, where he led the company’s regulatory strategy and was instrumental in shaping the regulatory framework around electricity generation. His experience also includes serving as Head of Regulation for New Business at Enel Argentina, where he led projects related to energy transition, new business models, and regulatory advocacy for emerging energy technologies. Earlier in his career, Gabriel worked at Central Dock Sud as Commercial Manager, where he focused on the evaluation and analysis of energy market projects, fuel management, and commercialization strategies. He also played an active role in AGEERA’s Commercial and Operations Committees and the Renewable Energy Commission, where he contributed to discussions on market dynamics and regulatory changes in Argentina’s electricity and energy markets. Gabriel's extensive experience across the energy sector, combined with his leadership in regulatory affairs, innovation, and market strategies, makes him a key figure in Argentina’s energy transition.
