Diego is currently serving as the Senior Corporate Counsel for Legal & External Affairs at Rio Tinto-Rincon Mining PTY Limited, where he oversees legal matters for the Rincon Lithium Project. Before this role, Diego was a partner at Alfaro Abogados law firm, specializing in mining, energy and natural resources, administrative law, and economic regulation. From 2015 until January 2020, he held various management positions within the National Mining Secretariat, including leading the legal aspects of the Secretariat's operations and serving as the National Director of Mining Investments. Previously, Diego worked as an administrative law specialist, advising the Federal Government, provincial authorities, municipalities, and consulting firms. Many of these projects were executed in collaboration with international organizations, and he has also extended his expertise to projects in the Republic of Honduras. In addition to his government roles, Diego has practiced law in both administrative and judicial settings. Diego is also an accomplished academic, currently teaching at the National University of La Plata Law School, as well as in the master's degree programs in administrative law at the National University of La Plata, Austral University, Catholic University of La Plata, Belgrano University, and the National University of La Matanza. He has been an active speaker at various conferences on administrative and mining law topics and has published numerous articles and research works in collective books and specialized publications in his field.
