American Salars Lithium Expands into Brazil with High-Grade Critical Minerals Project

American Salars Lithium (CSE: USLI) has taken a major step in expanding its critical minerals portfolio, securing the Jaguaribe Project in Ceará, Brazil. This 180km² property sits in a highly prospective pegmatite district, offering significant potential for lithium, niobium, rare earth elements (REEs), tin, rubidium, and zinc. With Brazil rapidly emerging as a key global supplier of critical minerals, Jaguaribe represents a strategic addition to the company’s growing portfolio across North and South America.

Expanding into Brazil’s Lithium Boom

Already active in Nevada, Quebec, and Argentina, American Salars Lithium is leveraging its expertise to explore hard rock lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites in one of the world’s most attractive mining jurisdictions.

Initial rock sampling from Jaguaribe has returned high-grade lithium results, including:
3.72% Li₂O
2.15% Li₂O
1.58% Li₂O

Additional sampling has confirmed notable concentrations of rubidium, tin, zinc, tantalum, and niobium, reinforcing the project’s multi-commodity potential.

American Salars Lithium CEO, R. Nick Horsley, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition:
💬 “Brazil has become a global epicenter for lithium production, and Jaguaribe is located in a well-established pegmatite district. The project contains high-grade lithium samples and significant rare earth element values, and we see immense exploration potential here. Our goal is to conduct a robust exploration program to further define these resources and establish Jaguaribe as a major player in the critical minerals supply chain.”

Why Jaguaribe Stands Out in Brazil’s Critical Minerals Landscape

Brazil is gaining momentum as a key player in global lithium production, home to major projects such as Sigma Lithium’s Grota do Cirilo—one of the world’s lowest-cost hard rock lithium operations—and the Serra Verde rare earths project. The Jaguaribe project is positioned to build on this success.

🔹 Historically mined region – Small-scale artisanal mining in the area has already extracted lithium, coltan (niobium and tantalum), and tin.
🔹 Infrastructure advantages – The project is just four hours from Fortaleza’s port and international airport, with paved road access.
🔹 Environmentally favorable – Located in sparsely populated farmland with stable topography, allowing for efficient exploration without environmental constraints.

Advancing Exploration with Phase 2 Program

The Phase 1 exploration program revealed large pegmatite dykes up to 30m wide and 300m long, indicating significant lithium-bearing potential.

Building on this success, Phase 2 exploration is set to include:
🔍 Detailed pegmatite mapping, led by seasoned hard rock lithium expert Mitch Lavery.
🔍 Geological assessments and priority drill target identification, in partnership with Brazil-based geological consultants.
🔍 A follow-up drilling program, aimed at evaluating lithium-rich zones and defining future development plans.

Horsley emphasized the long-term vision for Jaguaribe:
💬 “We are committed to unlocking the full value of Jaguaribe. Our exploration strategy is designed to confirm the project's economic viability and establish it as a key asset in the growing North and South American lithium supply chain.”

Strategic Acquisition Structure & Market Positioning

The acquisition of Jaguaribe was completed through a stock-based transaction, with 3.5 million units of American Salars’ shares exchanged for 14473777 outstanding common shares in the vendor BC Ltd. Each unit includes one common share and one purchase warrant at CAD$0.20, valid for three years, subject to a four-month holding period. The acquisition is pending approval by the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE).

A Key Step Toward Strengthening the Global Lithium Supply Chain

With its strategic location, high-grade mineralization, and strong exploration potential, Jaguaribe is poised to contribute to Brazil’s growing role in the global energy transition. As the U.S. and European battery markets seek to diversify supply chains beyond China, projects like Jaguaribe offer an alternative source of critical raw materialsfor electric vehicles and energy storage technologies.

American Salars Lithium is positioning itself as a leader in lithium exploration, ensuring a diversified and high-value portfolio that aligns with the increasing demand for sustainable battery metals.
