President, EPSE San Juan

Lucas Estrada is a leading figure in Argentina’s renewable energy sector, currently serving as President of Energía Provincial Sociedad del Estado (EPSE) since June 2024. With over a decade of experience in solar energy development and engineering management, he has been instrumental in advancing San Juan’s position as a national leader in photovoltaic energy production. Before assuming the presidency, Lucas held key roles within EPSE, including Engineering Manager and Project Manager for the Solar San Juan Project. In these capacities, he oversaw the construction of an integrated manufacturing plant for monocrystalline silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and photovoltaic modules, with an annual capacity of 70 MWp. His leadership has been pivotal in fostering research, development, and large-scale solar manufacturing in Argentina. Lucas has been at the forefront of alternative energy development in San Juan for over a decade, leading projects that span the entire silicon value chain—from quartz extraction to panel production and grid integration under regulated tariff schemes. His expertise in engineering leadership and regulatory frameworks has played a crucial role in expanding Argentina’s solar energy infrastructure. Prior to his tenure at EPSE, Lucas was Co-Founder & Research Manager at ZEITLOS, where he specialised in the production of advanced materials, including diamond-coated surfaces and industrial-grade diamonds using Argentine-developed technology. His deep technical background stems from his time at CNEA (Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica), where he contributed to R&D projects in materials engineering, particle accelerators, and solar energy strategy development. Lucas Estrada’s extensive experience in renewable energy innovation, industrial-scale solar manufacturing, and strategic energy planning positions him as a key driver in Argentina’s energy transition. His leadership at EPSE is shaping the future of sustainable energy in the region, strengthening San Juan’s role as a hub for solar technology and production.
