He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UFMG, a postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering from UFMG and in Economic Engineering from Fundação Dom Cabral, an MBA in Business Management from Fundação Dom Cabral and a post-MBA from the Kellogg School of Management Chicago, Northwerstern University, USA. He joined the company in 1987, working in the product development, powertrain and chassis areas in Latin America and at the Tech Centre in the USA.
