Technology company Wärtsilä has announced the renewal of a five-year maintenance agreement with Morocco's state-owned utility, Office National de l'Électricité et de l'eau potable (ONE). This agreement covers two power plants located in Tan Tan and Dakhla, which collectively generate 169.5 MW of power.

The comprehensive maintenance agreement includes the supply of spare parts, major overhauls, and technical support aimed at optimizing the total cost of ownership for Wärtsilä's assets. These services are crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the power plants, ensuring they operate at peak performance.

The Tan Tan and Dakhla plants play a vital role in balancing Morocco's increasing renewable energy production with sustainable fuels. As Morocco continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, these power plants will provide the necessary stability and reliability to the national grid.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with ONE and contribute to Morocco's energy transition," said a Wärtsilä spokesperson. "Our maintenance services will ensure that these power plants operate efficiently and sustainably, supporting Morocco's goals for renewable energy integration."

The renewed agreement underscores Wärtsilä's commitment to supporting sustainable energy solutions and enhancing the performance of power generation assets in Morocco.
