Alfredo Bonatto is a seasoned oil and gas executive with over 25 years of experience in the upstream energy sector, specialising in hydrocarbon production, asset management, and strategic operations. Since 2018, he has served as Vice President and CEO of Petróleos Sudamericanos, leading the company’s growth, operational efficiency, and investment strategies across Argentina’s energy landscape. Bonatto’s career in the oil and gas industry began with Petrobras Argentina, where he held key roles for over 13 years. His expertise spans project management, operational leadership, and field development in Argentina’s Neuquén and Austral Basins. From 2007 to 2011, he was Operations Manager for Neuquina Gas, overseeing production, investment planning, and environmental safety in one of Argentina’s most productive basins. In 2012, he joined Petróleos Sudamericanos as Asset Manager, leading business development, cost management, and stakeholder relations. He later became General Manager (2013-2018), assuming responsibility for financial performance, corporate strategy, and operational oversight. As CEO of Petróleos Sudamericanos, Bonatto is focused on optimising oil and gas production, expanding reserves, and driving technological advancements in Argentina’s shale and conventional energy sectors. His leadership is pivotal in navigating the country’s energy transition, ensuring sustainable development and investment in hydrocarbons.
