London, December 4, 2024 (The Net-Zero Circle) – Spark Energy Minerals Inc. (CSE: SPRK) (OTC Pink: SPARF) (FSE: 8PC), has announced significant progress in the early stages of its exploration efforts at the Arapaima Lithium Project. Located in Brazil’s renowned Lithium Valley, the 64,359-hectare project is yielding promising results that underscore its potential as a high-value lithium resource.

Key Exploration Developments

During the first week of exploration, Spark Energy Minerals identified a 1.7 km-long pegmatite corridor within the central northern portion of its tenement package. This corridor, characterized by weathered and kaolinized pegmatite intrusives hosted in granite, offers compelling evidence of lithium potential. The area lies within a drainage basin flagged by Brazil’s Geological Survey (CPRM) for its spodumene occurrences and lithium anomalies in stream sediment samples.

Highlights:

  • Five high-priority targets were identified, with outcrop rock chip sampling planned for follow-up.
  • Aerial drone surveys and ground reconnaissance revealed pegmatite bodies up to 0.5 meters in thickness, along with notable white mica and tourmaline-quartz aggregates.
  • The corridor’s geological exposure, spanning 50-75 meters, remains open to the east and west, with geophysical data suggesting potential extensions up to 8 km.

CEO Eugene Hodgson expressed confidence in the early results:
"The discovery of this pegmatite corridor is a pivotal milestone for Spark Energy Minerals. Our findings validate our strategic exploration approach and reinforce the vast potential of our land in Lithium Valley. With our initial discoveries, we are well-positioned for an exciting and productive campaign ahead."

Strategic Exploration Insights

Spark’s field team arrived at Padre Paraiso on November 25, promptly initiating reconnaissance and field access preparations. Their systematic approach quickly confirmed known pegmatite occurrences mapped by CPRM, while also revealing previously undocumented targets, expanding the project’s potential.

Jon Hill, VP of Exploration, elaborated:
"Using CPRM’s positive sampling data as a guide was a decisive move. The results exceeded our expectations, clearly demonstrating the eastern extension of Lithium Valley’s pegmatite-rich terrain. Over the coming months, we anticipate building a robust database as sampling results are analyzed."

Regional Context

Spark’s Arapaima Project is situated in proximity to some of the most active lithium projects in the region:

  • Sigma Lithium (15 km west): Achieved $34 million in Q3 operating cash flow.
  • Perpetual Resources (10 km northwest): Identified high-grade lithium pegmatites at the Isabella Project.
  • Lithium Ionic (15 km west): Reported 2.36% Li₂O over 9m at its Bandeira Project.
  • Lightning Minerals (50 km northwest): Detected spodumene-bearing pegmatite yielding 4.04% Li₂O at Esperança.

These developments highlight the competitive and resource-rich environment in which Spark Energy Minerals is strategically advancing its exploration activities.

Next Steps

The team plans to intensify efforts across the five identified target zones, further investigate artisanal mining sites, and explore additional pegmatite exposures in adjacent areas. A stream sediment program focusing on spodumene concentrations is also underway, leveraging insights from Brazil’s governmental reports.

Conclusion

Spark Energy Minerals’ discoveries at the Arapaima Lithium Project not only validate its exploration strategy but also spotlight the project’s potential to contribute significantly to the battery metals supply chain. As global demand for lithium surges, the company's operations in Brazil’s Lithium Valley position it as a key player in the energy transition narrative.
