Spark Energy Minerals Extends Pegmatite Trend at Arapaima Lithium Project

Spark Energy Minerals Inc. (CSE: SPRK) (OTC Pink: SPARF) (FSE: 8PC) has announced a significant expansion at its Arapaima Lithium Project in Brazil’s renowned Lithium Valley. The latest exploration efforts have led to the identification of a new pegmatite corridor spanning approximately 1.2km, bringing the total mapped pegmatite trend to 28.4km.

Key Developments at the Arapaima Lithium Project:

  • Spark Energy’s land package covers 64,359 hectares and is located just 15km from Sigma Lithium, Brazil’s largest lithium company, which has an estimated market cap of C$2 billion.
  • Despite ongoing exploration, around 80% of the total land package remains unexamined, leaving significant potential for further discoveries.
  • The recent 1.2km pegmatite extension was found 3km northeast of the previously identified Area 1, contributing to the overall expansion of lithium-bearing formations.
  • The company continues its focused Q1 2025 exploration program, building upon priority targets identified at the end of 2024.
  • An independent NI 43-101 Exploration Report, conducted by Beau Nicholls of Sahara Mining Services, is underway to provide a comprehensive geological assessment of the project.
  • Assay results from the Q4 2024 sampling program, currently under review at SGS Laboratory, are expected imminently.

Geological Insights and Exploration Progress

The Arapaima project is situated on a dissected plateau with a thick lateritic regolith cover, where natural erosion has exposed key geological formations. The basement complex, composed of oxidized granitoid intrusive rocks, hosts pegmatite intrusions that have been revealed through weathered outcrops.

The company’s geological team has identified multiple pegmatite bodies within the G2 granite suite, some exceeding 5 meters in thickness. The newly recognized pegmatite veins, extending over 1.2km, contain quartz, feldspar, white mica, and variable amounts of tourmaline. These formations exhibit structural orientations in both NE-SW and NW-SE directions, further confirming the potential for lithium-rich mineralization.

Ongoing Exploration & Artisanal Mining Prospects

Three priority target areas—Areas 1, 5, and 6—are under close examination, with 78 pegmatite occurrences mapped across eight distinct trends in the project’s central and northern sections.

Additionally, multiple artisanal mine workings have been discovered across the tenement, offering further insights into the lithium-rich formations. Many of these historical workings require specialized access, and Spark Energy has enlisted chartered geologist Dan Hamer, a qualified International Mountain Leader, to oversee safe entry into these underground tunnels. The insights gained from these mines are expected to provide valuable geochemical data to refine the company’s exploration strategy.

Expert Insights and Future Outlook

Jon Hill, Director of Spark Energy Minerals, highlighted the significance of the latest findings: “The rapid progress made by our exploration team in identifying yet another pegmatite corridor underscores the vast potential of the Arapaima Lithium Project. We are eager to receive assay results that will help shape our ongoing strategy, while insights from our expert consultants will further refine our approach to this extensive, high-potential tenement package.”

As Spark Energy Minerals continues its exploration push, the Arapaima Lithium Project remains a key contender in Brazil’s emerging lithium sector, reinforcing the country's role as a crucial player in the global battery metals market.
